Bitcoin ETF Performance Calculator
See what your money would be worth if you'd invested in a Bitcoin ETF. Select an ETF, enter an amount and date, and get your exact return including CAGR, max drawdown, and BTC equivalent.
How It Works
This calculator uses actual daily closing prices from fund filings. Returns include the effect of the ETF's expense ratio but do not account for brokerage commissions or taxes. The comparison to Bitcoin shows you the impact of holding the ETF versus buying Bitcoin directly.
The BTC equivalent shows how much Bitcoin your ETF shares currently represent, based on the fund's live BTC-per-share ratio. Learn more about fee drag →

Frequently Asked Questions
How accurate is this calculator?
This calculator uses actual daily closing prices from official fund data. Returns include the effect of the ETF's expense ratio but do not account for brokerage commissions, taxes, or trading slippage.
Why is the ETF return slightly lower than Bitcoin?
The ETF's expense ratio reduces the BTC-per-share ratio over time. For example, IBIT charges 0.25% annually, which compounds and creates a small drag on returns compared to holding Bitcoin directly. Learn more about fee drag →
What date can I calculate from?
Each ETF has a different inception date. Most spot Bitcoin ETFs launched on January 11, 2024. The Grayscale Bitcoin Mini Trust (ticker: BTC) launched on July 31, 2024.
Does this include dividends?
Bitcoin ETFs don't pay dividends. All returns come from price appreciation of the underlying Bitcoin holdings.
